Webster Technique
The Webster Technique was developed over 30 years ago by chiropractor Dr. Larry Webster. The technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis, chiropractic adjustment, and related soft tissue (muscles and ligaments) release. It can be used throughout pregnancy; it can even be used on non-pregnant patients.
The most common type of chiropractic adjustment used in the Webster Technique is using a drop table adjustment. Dr. Emily also uses special pillows designed for pregnant patients to support the mom.
The Webster Technique works to maintain normal physiology and function by reducing interference in the nervous system, maintaining structural balance of the pelvis, and removing tension in the muscles and ligaments around the pelvis.
Webster Certification
Dr. Larry Webster also founded the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association in 1986. The ICPA is composed of over 4,000 chiropractic doctors and students around the world. The association is based upon a common interest in advancement of quality, evidenced-based care for families. The ICPA works to provide education, training, and research relating to chiropractic care in pregnancy and throughout childhood. The ICPA is the only organization the provides certification in the Webster Technique.
